Privacy Policy
Porchline Media LLC
This Privacy Policy explains how Porchline Media LLC ("Porchline Media," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information through porchlinemedia.com (the "Site") and the Local Spotlight advertising program.
We collect information from two kinds of people: advertisers (businesses that reserve a spot on a Local Spotlight card) and homeowners/visitors (people who see a Local Spotlight postcard, visit the Site, call a tracking number, or scan a QR code).
1. Information We Collect
From advertisers (businesses reserving a spot):
- Business name, category, contact name, phone number, and email
- Payment information, processed directly by Stripe (we do not store your full card number)
- Logo, images, offer details, and other material submitted for ad design
- Communications with us (email, text, form submissions)
From homeowners and Site visitors:
- Information submitted through our lead-capture form when you scan a QR code on a Local Spotlight card (typically name, contact info, and what you're interested in)
- Call data when you call a tracking number on a Local Spotlight ad, including the number you called from and a recording of the call (see Section 3)
- Standard web analytics when you browse the Site, such as pages viewed and general location/device information
- Any information you submit directly through a form on the Site
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Reserve and manage advertiser spots, process payments, and produce ads
- Route and attribute calls, texts, and QR scans to the correct advertiser
- Send advertisers results reports showing their leads and call activity
- Deliver leads collected via QR scans to the relevant advertiser
- Operate and improve the Site, including the spot map, status tracker, and ROI calculator
- Communicate with advertisers and prospects about their spot, billing, or inquiries
- Comply with legal and tax obligations
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Consent to be contacted. When you submit your information through any form on the Site — including the reservation form, contact form, or any lead-magnet or guide-download form — and check the accompanying consent box, you expressly consent to Porchline Media LLC contacting you by phone, text message, or email at the phone number and email address you provided, even if that phone number is listed on a state or national Do Not Call registry. This consent covers calls, texts, and emails placed personally by Joe Johnson or Porchline Media LLC about your inquiry, your reservation, your account, and related follow-up. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text, asking to be removed by phone, or emailing joe@porchlinemedia.com.
3. Call Recording Disclosure
Calls placed to a Local Spotlight tracking number are tracked and may be recorded through our call tracking provider, CallRail, for attribution and quality purposes. Recorded calls are forwarded to the advertiser's own business phone. Georgia law permits recording with the consent of at least one party to the call; by calling a Local Spotlight tracking number, you consent to this recording. If you'd prefer not to be recorded, you can contact the business directly through another listed channel instead of the tracking number.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following third-party services to operate Local Spotlight. Each has its own privacy practices governing the data it processes on our behalf:
| Provider | What it's used for |
|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing and billing for advertiser spots |
| CallRail | Call tracking, call recording, and attribution reporting |
| HubSpot | Internal CRM for tracking prospects and advertisers |
| Google Forms | Advertiser ad-design intake |
| Canva | Ad design production (does not receive personal data beyond what's needed to build your ad) |
| Google Ads / Google Search Console | Site traffic and advertising performance measurement |
| Facebook / Meta | Community outreach, the 7-Day Triple Reach Bonus feature, and the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement and audience building |
| Meta Pixel | Conversion tracking, ad performance measurement, and audience creation on Facebook and Instagram (see Section 5) |
We share only the information each provider needs to perform its function for us. We don't control these providers' independent use of data outside of what we've asked them to do.
5. Meta Pixel & Advertising Analytics
We use the Meta Pixel (also called the Facebook Pixel) on our Site. It is a small piece of JavaScript code provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. that loads when you visit a page on porchlinemedia.com. The Pixel helps us measure the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, understand how people interact with our Site after seeing an ad, and build advertising audiences.
What the Meta Pixel collects:
- Your IP address
- The pages you view on our Site and the order in which you view them
- The date and time of your visit, plus how long you spend on each page
- Your browser type and version, operating system, and device type
- Your referrer URL (the page you came from before landing on our Site)
- Facebook cookie data and your Facebook user ID if you are logged into Facebook or have Facebook cookies in your browser
- Events and actions you take on our Site, such as submitting your email address on a lead form to request a free guide
- Hashed identifiers such as your email address or phone number if you provide them through a form and advanced matching is enabled
How we use this data:
- Track conversions, such as when someone signs up to receive a free guide through our lead magnet form
- Measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits, form submissions, or other actions on our Site
- Create custom audiences and lookalike audiences for future advertising campaigns
- Retarget ads to people who have previously visited our Site
- Optimize ad delivery and reduce spend on ads that are not working
When you submit your email address to receive a free guide or other lead magnet, the Meta Pixel may fire a conversion event ("Lead") that tells us a form submission occurred. If you are logged into Facebook or have Facebook cookies present, Meta may associate that event with your Facebook profile for ad measurement and targeting purposes.
You can opt out of Meta's interest-based advertising and learn more about Meta's data practices by visiting Meta's Ad Preferences page. You can also block or limit the Pixel through your browser settings, ad blockers, or privacy-focused browsers.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The Site may use cookies or similar technologies (including the Meta Pixel, Google Ads, and Google Search Console) to understand how visitors use the Site, measure ad performance, and support remarketing and audience building. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect some Site features.
7. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We share information:
- With the third-party providers listed in Section 4, to operate the Service
- With an advertiser, when a homeowner's contact or lead information comes in through that advertiser's QR code, tracking number, or promo code
- If required by law, subpoena, or legal process
- If necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Porchline Media, our advertisers, or the public
- In connection with a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this Policy would continue to apply to your information under the new owner
8. Data Retention
We retain advertiser account and billing information for as long as your spot is active and for a reasonable period afterward for tax and recordkeeping purposes. We retain lead data (calls, texts, form submissions, QR scans) long enough to deliver results reporting to advertisers and for our own recordkeeping. If you'd like your information deleted sooner, contact us using the details in Section 12 and we'll do so unless we're required to keep it for legal or tax reasons.
9. Your Rights & Choices
You can:
- Ask us what personal information we have about you
- Ask us to correct or delete your personal information
- Opt out of non-essential communications from us at any time
- Request that we not use your call recording, subject to the disclosure in Section 3
- Adjust your Meta ad preferences or use browser controls to limit Meta Pixel tracking
To make any of these requests, contact us using the details in Section 12.
10. Children's Privacy
Local Spotlight and the Site are intended for business owners and adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect, including relying on providers like Stripe (PCI-compliant payment processing) and CallRail for sensitive data handling. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
